In lieu of a virtual or in-person gala this year, AIISF is hosting three different virtual fundraisers: Dumplings and Drinks, Sushi and Sake, and the AIIM Virtual Opening Ceremony.

We invite you to join us for two VIP in-home culinary experiences (with virtual programs) featuring San Francisco chefs: Chef Leo Leung from Dumpling Time and Executive Chef Jackson Yu with Omakase. Guests will receive a prix fixe dinner with a wine/sake pairing to enjoy with your meal. On both evenings, we will host a virtual program that includes a live cooking demonstration of your meal and opportunities to learn more about each chef's personal immigration journey.

Sponsors have the option of either having meals delivered to their own home (for hosting a safe, small group gathering) or to their guests' homes. Meals and selected pairings will be delivered on the afternoon of the program. You can view a map of the delivery area here: www.aiisf.org/vipdinners

If you prefer to make a payment by check or have questions about the events, please contact Ed Tepporn at etepporn@aiisf.org.

Dumplings and Drinks
May 27, 2021, 6 pm (PT)
Chef Leo Leung, Dumpling Time

For this evening, we are partnering with Dumpling Time, known for their traditional dumplings and noodles interpreted through a Western lens. They have been recognized as having the "Best Dumplings" by SF Weekly and have been featured in 7x7, SF Eater, San Francisco Chronicle, and Food & Wine.

The menu for the event will include a 2pc shrimp har gow, 2pc seafood gyoza, 2pc mala shrimp pork Siu Mai, 1pc bbq pork bao, 1pc chicken bao, 1pc green tea milk bun, Beijing noodles, and edamame.

A vegetarian menu option is available that includes 6pc veggie Xi'an dumpling, 2pc veggie bao, 1pc egg yolk (custard) bun, gan ban noodles and edamame. Each guest will receive a bottle of Brown Estate's House of Brown Chardonnay, crisp, medium-bodied wine with tropical, citrus, and golden apple notes.

Sushi and Sake
June 1, 2021, 6 pm (PT)
Executive Chef Jackson Yu, Omakase

We are thrilled to collaborate with Omakase, a Michelin-starred restaurant whose "almost impossible to get a reservation doesn’t stop it from being one of SF’s highest-rated sushi spots". Recognized by the San Francisco Chronicle as a "Top 100" restaurant, Omakase has also been featured in Afar Magazine, SF Weekly, Thrillist, and the Forbes Travel Guide. At Omakase, the vast majority of the fish is sourced directly from the world-famous Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo.

The menu will include an 11pc seasonal nigiri box, toto maki, and Tamago. Each guest will receive a bottle of Den Sake Brewery's original flagship "Den," described as having an inviting aroma of orange blossom, nectarine, celery, and spearmint, with a hint of underlying caramel.

Stay tuned for our third virtual fundraiser -- the Angel Island Immigration Museum Virtual Opening Ceremony. Complimentary tickets for this online event will be released later this year.
